Ron, it’s also interesting to see the variety of stone masonry techniques – drystone, minimal amounts of mortar (or mud!) between the layers of stone, right up to lots of cement with a few token stones in layers. The drystone buildings are the ones that look the best, and have often stood the test of time the best too.

Thanks for your good wishes – I´m fine now. We walked another 17kms today, nearly all of it uphill. Tomorrow we get to the highest point on the Camino, just over 1500 metres.
