Yes, if there is only one lesson to be learnt from the last couple of months, it would be

Don’t go to Russia! There are plenty of other interesting, civilised, friendly countries in the world to take your tourist dollars to.

A few lessons learnt – don’t assume, double check everything and (possibly) don’t go to Russia!

” But can’t you see Sarah Palin’s place from your hotel room?”
Thanks for making us laugh. It definitely brightened a very dark day for us.
Korean BBQ for dinner tonight!

You two! Indeed you WILL laugh about this—often and for many many years to come. (I have to admit when I read that the only way you could leave the country was to be deported I let out a large morning guffaw!) I met you the morning after your first night in New York after your (spits loudly now) “hotel” dissed you, and you came up shining–as you will after this! And lord knows–blinis and borscht! There are a helluva lot worse last meals!

It wasn’t running. Our guide book says there are still 300 working steam trains in Russia still. There certainly are lots of steam trains on display at railway stations.

We haven’t seen many Chinese/Asians. It still surprises us how anglo/European everyone looks even in Siberia.
