Lots of Cornish names around Adelaide, and we’re currently staying in Trafalgar – I think this whole stretch of the coast was settled by the British, going by the place names xxx

So not surprising that the settlers brought their place names here too. One of Adelaide’s main city streets is King William St, and just after we drove through Adelaide yesterday, we drove through King William Town.
Yes, just one meercat, but we were happy to see him. xxx

Most sites have cost us between $18 – 35 per night. The expensive ones were in Botswana and we were paying a ‘conservation fee’ as well. For the South African ones, we bought a ‘Wild Card’, like a National Park pass, for $300 for the 2 of us and that covers all our conservation fees for a year.
Glentana is just over 400kms from Cape Town.
Yes, we have seen lots of wildlife, but in South Africa apart from baboons, it’s all been in parks and sanctuaries. If it wasn’t protected, I’m pretty sure there would be none left.

Avis replaced the car for us yesterday, thank heavens. Good lesson for us – ask to see the car before agreeing to take it, if it’s not something we’re familiar with. I would very, very strongly advise against buying a VW Polo – we kept saying to each other … ‘if someone had bought this car new and it started doing these things, wouldn’t they be unhappy?’

I think the last time we saw beach huts was when we visited Brightlingsea with Helen and John, in 2008. We have had a brilliant day – walked up Table Mtn. Well. I walked part-way up and then walked down, Greg walked all the way up and caught the cable car down. Amazing view of this beautiful city. xxx
