I know I should have looked it up myself but don’t seem to have time with all the craft I do . Usually ask Derick to look on his I Pad while I am knitting when a question crops up!! got to keep the old brains active. As for valentines day ,I didn’t get flowers, he made us carrot and coriander soup for lunch. Love the views of the table mountain and of course pictures of you. Have a
lovely day xx

The first European to reach the cape was the Portuguese explorer Bartolomeu Dias 12 March in 1488, who named it the “Cape of Storms” (Cabo das Tormentas). It was later renamed by John II of Portugal as “Cape of Good Hope” (Cabo da Boa Esperança) because of the great optimism engendered by the opening of a sea route to India and the East.
Vasco da Gama was the first person to reach India by sea, in the very late 1490s
Happy Valentine’s Day to you two young lovebirds! xx

Was this to do with Vasco de Garma (hope the spelling is right ). It’s amazing at my age (81) that these things come back , so I must have taken something in!! Have a great Valentines day xx
