Most of the traffic would be tourists, or locals going about their business. And most of the tourism here is local, ie, Chilean. The hitch-hikers would all be either Chilean or Argentinian. We’ve met very few internationals, and most are from Europe, not the US.

May I suggest say TIBET next time they have some very challenging roads so I believe stay on the road keep motoring.
