Sorry about that, folks.

And for anyone who has no clue of what I’m talking about, you young things … here it is:

I guess I’m the Capucine character in the movie, but we’ll have to watch it before I decide if Greg is John Wayne or Stewart Granger.

So, welcome to our latest adventure. So far the plan is that we’ll fly to LA, pick up a hire car and drive north to …. no, not there, but you still have that song in your head, don’t you …. Washington State. We’re going to visit our friends Gail and Pat and spend a couple of days with them, and then put the car on a ferry to Skagway in … yes, there! It’s a 3-day trip, and we’ll be pitching our tent on the deck because we couldn’t get a cabin. Sounds kind of like a floating campground, and we’ll be sure to tell you all about it, and take lots of photos. After we get to Skagway, our plans are a bit … okay, very vague, but we have 9 weeks to travel around before we have to take the car back to LA and catch a plane home.

Here’s what we want to do, although it will probably change as we go along and find out about things we don’t know about yet: spend some time in Alaska camping in Denali National Park, go to Fairbanks, Anchorage and hopefully visit Gail and Pat’s daughter Micaela in Girdwood. Drive through Canada – BC, Alberta & Saskatchewan, then head south through The Dakotas & Nebraska, then west through Colorado & Utah and finish with a few days in Las Vegas. If anyone has any ‘must-see’ suggestions, we’d love to hear from you!

Come along for the ride – hopefully it will all be smooth sailing this trip, with no unexpected hiccups.
