It rained overnight, but I woke to another flat calm day. I got going about 8:30am, to such wonderful calm water. As I paddled east I followed two dolphins coming up for air every now and then. There were large schools of fish. I stopped at a beach near Port Moorowie. I continued on west, and about. 0.5km out it started raining. I couldn’t understand why the rain was hitting my head, then I realised that I had left my hat back on the beach. So back I went to retrieve it.<\/p>\n

The coast was shallow, although it was close to low tide. Past Port Moorowie is Sturt Bay which is a low gently curved bay, almost 20km long. I was aiming for Sturt Bay camping ground which is in the middle of Sturt Bay. About 3km from Sturt Bay campsite I hit what I think was algae bloom, the first I had seen. The water was brown, and smelt like rotting seaweed.<\/p>\n

Around 3pm I made it to Sturt Bay camp ground. No one was there. I messaged Mike who was driving from Edithburgh to pick me up.<\/p>\n

That is the end of this part of the trip. I wanted to do 300km, and I actually did about 150km. I spent 5 days on shore, and at least one other part day shortened because of bad weather. However I hope there will be a part 2, and I will be back to continue from Sturt Bay.<\/p>\n
